Looking for a tech job is a helpless data-entry nightmare

I spent hundred of hours (distributed over many days) filling my resume data to freshly developed forms made specifically to the hiring process of one or two companies, even though I feel like I have a top 10% resume and years of in hands-down software development experience. I love solving problems, it's part of me.

I know it has got a lot harder to land a development gig but I've worked with modern stuff like AI-generated briefs for meetings, bug logs automatically sent emails to responsible developers, at a point I had an Agent dedicated to verifying how well our code was written so I feel like I've kept up with the innovations, and skills.

But I have no idea how to land a job in software development anymore: nothing seems enough. I have tried for over a year and the only reason I can withstand this much waiting while seeking a job in that field is because of my exceptional employment history (including working to Silicon Valley companies), but it has got to a point I am worried.

I've asked my friends who are also developers and they feel similarly, we do not know where to dedicate our effors, as if the competency of software engineers were transformed irrelevant because of AI. We know what happened, we just don't know what to do with all the competency we embody.

I've taken a liking to working as a bartender in my local city, because that's kind of the only job I can land lately, but as soon as my degree in Computer Engineering is mentioned I'm set aside as a anti-social computer expert who will never take a low-paying job like "this". (Secretly I found it very fun, fullfilling in a way I never thought I needed because money was my priority at the beggining of the carreer)

How the hell do we transform this competency and learning ability of software engineers into desireable company-adding value skills?

(I swear this is not generated by AI, I don't even know how to prove anymore)

I know my english could use some improvement and I will leave this first comment to clarify I am a Brazilian developer: My main language is Portuguese, but I've been a productive software engineer for over 3 consecutive years in companies with daily meetings and did a good job. All I am asking is what should we (software engineers) focus our effort on?

I don’t know either, but you have a great attitude and I wish you good luck.

"I don't know" is the last thing I expected someone to say, everyone is so fuckin certain nowadays. Thank you for taking the effort to post that, I mean it. I've always felt insecure about most of my convictions because the environment I was raised in could not support mistakes, which was perfect for computer engineering: We can always test again when we get something wrong. People are clearly not like that (or so I learned). Thanks. Really.
